Settings
Under Appearance you choose the color scheme (system, light, dark), the language (Deutsch, English), the time zone and the region for numbers and dates. Language, time zone and region apply on all devices you are signed in on. Time zone and region are set to "Automatic": then they follow your device, even when you travel. A fixed choice takes precedence over the device.
The time zone defines what "today" means: the day boundary on the dashboard and in the calendar, the default in date fields, the validity of vaccination cover and pet pass links. If you travel to another zone, the day boundary moves with you; doses already logged keep their real moment and may therefore shift to the previous day. The region decides between comma and point and the order within a date (16.09.2026, 16/09/2026 or 09/16/2026).
In the archive you find archived pets and can restore them with one click.
Under Subscription you see your current plan. "View plans" opens the subscription page with all plans compared. We currently set up your plan for you personally. Important: the Private subscription is tied to your account and covers all your spaces (the Organization plan applies per shelter). On cancellation everything is kept, readable and exportable; on the Private plan one pet of your choice also stays fully editable. A shelter or rescue can still read and export everything after cancelling, but cannot edit anything any more.
Under Storage you see the storage used per space (Free 250 MB, Private 5 GB, Organization 20 GB).
Rarer things live together under "More" at the very bottom: the help, legal (legal notice, privacy, terms, accessibility, contact) and your data. There you download an export of all spaces, pets and entries of your keeper world as a file at any time, photos per pet as a ZIP, and delete your account if needed, doubly safeguarded and final. If one of your spaces still has other members, you remove them first or hand over the space; the app tells you exactly when that applies.
The "Accessibility" page says openly how well Merla works with a screen reader, without a mouse and with impaired vision: what is already met, what is not yet, when it was last reviewed and which version that refers to.
You also change your name and password here. At the very bottom sits the app's version number.
